How EU import charges are calculated
Goods entering the EU from India pay the Common External Tariff on the CIF value, any product-specific anti-dumping duty, and the destination country's import VAT — which is charged on the customs value plus the duties, not just the goods price. VAT-registered importers can usually reclaim the VAT as input tax, so the duty line is the true cost in most B2B transactions.
